Rocklahoma 2027 is set for 3 to 5 September 2027 at Rockin' Red Dirt Ranch, 4 miles north of Pryor, Oklahoma, and about 45 minutes from Tulsa, according to the festival's official site. It is a three-day rock festival with a Thursday night pre-party and GA and VIP campgrounds. The camping rules below come from the festival's current info page, which still lists 2026 dates, so treat them as a strong guide and confirm 2027 details before you go.
Camping basics
- Festival admission and camping are sold separately. You need a weekend festival pass to camp; you can't enter the property without a festival wristband. Parking is included with a pass.
- Each campsite is 20' x 40', and your camper and vehicle must fit on it. Longer campers need two campsites bought back to back. Only one car per campsite, and no parking on camping roads.
- All campsites are primitive: no electric or water hook-ups. Plan your own power and water.
- RVs and trailers must be built and certified to the NFPA 1192 or ANSI A119.5 recreational vehicle standards, and converted RVs aren't allowed. Box trucks, cube trucks, enclosed utility trailers and oversized flatbeds are banned from the campgrounds.
- For 2026, campgrounds opened at noon on the Sunday before the festival and closed at noon on the Tuesday after. If a rental company is delivering your camper, it had to be there by Wednesday night.
- No one can drive or move a vehicle in the campgrounds between 9 PM and 6 AM.
Power and generator limits
Generators are allowed if they have a factory exhaust that doesn't blow into nearby tents, and fuel must be stored in approved fuel cans. The festival caps portable generators at 6,500 W (the page also says 6 kW in one place), unless the generator is factory installed in your RV; anything larger needs approval from the festival in advance (email info@rocklahoma.com with CAMPING GENERATOR in the subject line). A battery power station plus solar is a quieter way to run fans and charge phones; see our portable power station guide and festival generator rules.
Water and RV services
The festival's official restroom provider sells campsite services: RV waste pump ($50), RV water fill ($50), a misc water fill ($50 per 300 gallons) and private restroom rental ($150), bookable in advance. Its on-site office was open 9 AM to 5 PM. For 2026 the main shower house was open 24/7 from the Sunday before the festival. There is a general store in the campground for ice, food, drinks and camping basics, and it is cashless.
What the campgrounds allow and ban
Allowed: coolers, basic camping supplies, water, portable electric lanterns and flashlights, sleeping bags, lawn chairs, sunscreen, a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, and a small propane stove or grill. Outside food and drinks are allowed in the campgrounds only, not in the parking area or concert site.
Banned in the campgrounds, among others: glass bottles of any kind, open campfires and fire pits (small propane grills are OK), tiki torches, metal stakes (plastic stakes are OK), golf carts, bikes and side-by-sides, drones, fireworks, generators over the limit, helium tanks, two-way radios, air horns, spray paint and pets (service animals only). Alcohol is 21+ only, and you must show ID when bringing it in. Weapons of any kind are banned, including pocket knives and even dinner knives.
Plan for storms
Rocklahoma is a rain or shine event, but it may pause, evacuate or cancel for severe thunderstorms, lightning, high wind, hail or flooding. The festival says campers should shelter in their vehicle or camper, not in a tent, and should put all untethered items in their vehicle before heading to the stages. Pack so you can stow your camp quickly: bins, straps and a tarp you can pull down in minutes. Our festival camping in the rain guide covers the rest.
The festival site: clear bags only
Bags must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and no bigger than 14" x 14" x 6". You can bring one factory-sealed water bottle (20 oz max) or one empty, clear plastic refillable bottle; metal bottles are banned, and so are hydration packs, umbrellas, aerosol cans, coolers and selfie sticks. Sunscreen must be non-aerosol. It is an all-ages event, and the festival strongly encourages hearing protection for kids. Lawn chairs are allowed only in designated seating areas.
What we would pack
- Clear mini backpack, 12 x 12 x 6, inside the 14 x 14 x 6 limit
- SPF 50 sunscreen lotion (no aerosols in the festival site) and a wide-brim sun hat instead of an umbrella
- Loop Quiet earplugs for you and the kids
- 7-gallon water jugs, since the sites have no water hook-ups
- 2-burner propane stove (no campfires)
- Rechargeable LED lantern (no tiki torches)
- Battery power station with a 100W solar panel
- Lockable gear bins and ratchet straps to stow camp fast when storms roll in
- Rain ponchos for the crew
- Electrolyte packets for long days in the sun
Skip metal stakes here: Rocklahoma only allows plastic ones, so bring plastic stakes from home or a camping store.
