Nothing ends a camp faster than a generator getting confiscated at the gate. Power rules vary a lot between fests, so here is what each official page says, and what we bring instead.
Bonnaroo: under 4 kW
Generators smaller than 4 kW are allowed (Bonnaroo limits size because of noise). You can bring no more than 10 gallons of gasoline per generator per vehicle, in an appropriate container, and extra fuel is confiscated. Source: Bonnaroo generator FAQ. For 2026 every RV pass included a 30 or 50 amp power hookup (Bonnaroo RV FAQ), so many RV crews may not need one at all.
EDC Las Vegas: no gas generators
Gas generators are not allowed at Camp EDC; solar-powered generators are OK. Personal gas tanks for refueling RVs are banned too, and there is no refueling service. Truck campers and fifth wheels need their own on-board generator (or the power add-on) plus an air conditioner that runs without the vehicle on. The power add-on needs a cable of at least 75 feet with a 30 or 50 amp connector. Sources: Camp EDC guidelines, Camp EDC RV page.
Coachella: no gas generators, no RVs
Gas generators are on Coachella's camping prohibited list, and so are extra car batteries. RVs aren't allowed at all. Powered Car Camping gives you one standard 3-prong outlet (with a 3-outlet extension cord) for small devices like phones, power banks, tablets and string lights, but not hairdryers, microwaves or toasters. Glastonbury: no generators at all
