Rock Werchter 2027 runs from Thursday 1 July to Sunday 4 July at the Festivalpark in Werchter, Belgium, a short ride from Leuven. A four-day ticket costs €320 and includes the train to Leuven or Aarschot plus the festival shuttle bus, so a lot of people arrive without a car. If you are bringing a tent or a campervan, here is what the festival has published and what we would pack.
The Hive: bring your own tent
The Hive is the official campsite right next to the Festival Park. A camping ticket costs €49, and it opens on Wednesday 30 June at 2:00 PM. Campers also get Central Park, the campsite's meeting point with breakfast at Café De Welkom and a party tent every evening. Early July in Belgium can be warm or wet, so we pack a tent that sheds rain and stakes that hold: tents, our tent guide and camping in the rain.
The Hive Mobilhome: campervans and motorhomes
- Open from 6:00 PM on Wednesday 30 June until 12:00 PM on Monday 5 July 2027.
- Only for motorhomes: vehicles equipped for living in, with valid registration, an inspection certificate and a wastewater holding tank. Caravans and normal cars are not allowed. An extra car can go in Parking GROEN 8 with a pre-bought ticket, but nobody can sleep there.
- A standard pitch is 9 x 4 m (36 m²); an XL pitch is 9 x 6 m (54 m²), with room for an awning.
- Packages include the pitch and camping tickets for 2, 4 or 6 people, from €352 (Mobilhome 2) to €600 (Mobilhome XL 6). One voucher covers the whole group, so arrive together if you can.
- Once you are parked you stay put: you can't leave your pitch and come back.
- Electricity is within 70 m of your pitch at 500 W (2 A). Bring your own extension cord.
- No water at the pitches; drinking-water taps are in the comfort zone, with toilets, showers, and discharge points for waste water and chemical toilets.
- Not allowed: tents, built-in or portable generators, sound systems, beer taps, open fires and barbecues, drones, glass and pets (assistance dogs excepted).
- It sits some distance from the Festival Park. Free shuttle buses run from Thursday, and the festival suggests bringing a bike.
What that means for your van kit
500 W will charge phones and run lights, but not a kettle or a hair dryer, and you can't run a generator. A small power station topped up from the hook-up or a solar panel covers the gap: power stations for camping and Power & Solar. With no barbecues and no water at the pitch, plan no-cook meals and fill a water jug at the taps: Festival Food & Snacks and keeping food cold. Pack a long extension cord, levelling blocks and decanted plastic bottles instead of glass. Our full list is the UK & EU campervan festival packing list, and the Festival RV Kit has the basics in one place.
Sleep and the walk
A party tent every night means earplugs and a mask are worth packing: earplugs and sleep masks. For the Festival Park, bring a small bag, a refillable bottle and a rain shell: Rain & Mud.
