Roskilde Festival 2027 runs from 26 June to 3 July near Copenhagen. It is a long week of camping, so the rules matter.
Pavilions: durable only
Roskilde has banned the cheap, white, self-assembly pavilions that break and get left behind. Durable fold-out or scissor pavilions are still allowed, and you can cover up to 9 m² of your camp. Tents larger than 9 m² are not allowed. If you bring shade, pick a sturdy pop-up you will use again. See Shade & Canopies and how to secure a canopy in wind.
No generators, no solar panels
Generators and solar panel systems are on the prohibited list. We would bring charged power banks and battery lights instead: Power & Solar and camp lights.
Cooking and fire
Open fire is only allowed in designated areas, and the only fuel allowed is one-litre Trangia bottles for cooking in the cooking areas. No glass anywhere in the campsite. Plan simple food: Festival Food & Snacks and Camp Kitchen.
Caravan Camping
Roskilde has a Caravan Camping area for campervans and motorhomes up to 7.5 m long and 2.5 m wide. You can add one awning (combined width up to 5 m), but no ordinary tents. There is no power and no waste-water emptying. Built-in gas is allowed only with a gas safety approval no more than two years old. It is a quiet area, with no noise from midnight to 08:00. If you are renting, Roadsurfer is one EU option; check the van size against the limits. Our Festival RV Kit has the rest.
Check before you pack
Rules change from year to year, and we only list what the festival has published. Read the official page before you buy anything: Roskilde prohibited items and Caravan Camping FAQ.
