550 Paracord 100 ft Black — Camp Utility Cord
Prices on Amazon
100 ft of 550 cord for guy-outs, gear hangs, clotheslines, and emergency repairs. Festival tool lists call paracord the cheap multipurpose line that always earns its weight.
Why we pick this
Something always needs tying at a fest: a tarp corner, a clothesline, a tapestry, a broken strap. Cord you can cut to length fixes it. It fixes tents, shade walls, bike racks, and the occasional very sad camp chair. Black hides dirt and looks intentional on a frame. It takes up almost no room in the repair bin. A hundred feet goes further than you think.
- Bring it when: Any camp. It's cheap insurance.
- Skip it if: You already carry cord. Nobody needs two hanks.
- In the box: 100 feet of 550-type cord. Not for climbing or anything that holds a person.
- Field tip: Melt the cut ends with a lighter so they don't fray. Pre-cut a few 6–10 ft lengths at home for fast guy-outs.
- Flag low lines: so nobody gets clotheslined walking back at 3 a.m. October gets dark early, so tie a strip of reflective tape on anything below head height.
- Fall note: wet cord stretches and knots cinch tight. Re-tension guy-outs after rain or a gusty front. See how to secure a pop-up canopy in wind.
