Goal Zero Yeti 300 Portable Power Station

Goal Zero's Yeti 300 portable power station: LiFePO4 battery, solar-generator ready.

Why we pick this

It's a small LiFePO4 station from a brand with a long outdoor track record, sized for phones, lights and a fan in a tent camp or a small RV. It was rated lower (4.0 when we checked) than its rivals, so it makes the most sense if you already run Goal Zero panels.

• Before you fly: power stations are big lithium batteries, and many are over airline watt-hour limits. Check your airline's rules before packing one.
• Heat: keep stations and power banks in the shade. Heat is hard on batteries.
