Boom Festival celebrates 30 years from 18 to 25 July 2027 in Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal. Tickets are sold out, so this is for those already going.
No gas, full stop
Boom prohibits gas canisters and gas devices, including in campervans. Cooking happens at the community kitchens. So we leave the stove at home and pack no-cook food and snacks: Festival Food & Snacks. Candles, incense and campfires are out too, so light your camp with battery lights: camp lights.
Shade and dust
Boom asks you to bring a tent, sleeping bag, mattress, poles and a tarp or other shade. Dust masks are recommended. Our Shade & Canopies, Dust Goggles & Masks and dust protection list cover this.
Heat and water
We plan water and electrolytes around every hot fest: Hydration & Cooling and our hydration plan.
Campervans
Campervans are welcome, and parking and camping are included with the ticket, but there is no electric power. Remember the gas rule applies inside the van too, so a van's built-in hob stays off. If you rent, Roadsurfer is one EU option. Pack power banks or a power station.
Leave no trace
Boom asks you to keep camp tidy and use the compost toilets rather than dumping chemical-toilet waste.
Check before you pack
Rules change from year to year, and we only list what the festival has published. Read the official page before you buy anything: Boom health & safety and caravans & cars.
For the hydration, foot care and first-aid basics we pack for every festival, see our Health & Wellness picks and our Staying Healthy at a Festival guide.
